Architectural stainless steel wall panels

Stainless Steel Arch Trim and Water-Ripple Wall Cladding

Stainless steel arch trims, lined recesses and silver water-ripple wall panels offer distinct ways to define interior openings and feature surfaces.
Product description

Decorative stainless steel wall cladding and trim provide a flexible way to finish arched openings, feature walls, stairwells and building entrances. The collection includes bronze and gold-toned trims, silver water-ripple cladding and curved metal panels used with stone, plaster and tiled walls. A narrow trim can define an opening or panel edge, while a broader cladding surface can become the main visual element of a wall. Xinmao Metal can develop the pieces around the wall profile, including curved lines, returns, panel joins and transition details. The design may be applied to interior spaces or selected architectural entrance details where the visible geometry supports the material. This approach keeps the metalwork closely tied to the proportions and materials already present in the project.

Panel system

Flat, folded, or cassette-style wall panels tailored to architectural elevations, corner details, reveals, and maintenance access points.

Information for review
  • Verify arch profiles, lining depths and adjacent wall build-ups before fabrication; use an approved section to distinguish a slim edge trim from a full-depth return.
  • For ripple walls, coordinate panel sequencing, service openings and the visible reveal detail on the elevation; review the actual texture sample rather than assuming continuous pattern registration.
  • Where exterior entrance pieces are selected, obtain project-specific support and envelope-interface details. Decorative trims must not be assumed to provide the building's water or air barrier.
  • Protect curved edges and ripple faces while surrounding trades finish their work. Keep planned access points usable and clean the approved surface with compatible soft materials. Further guidance: Architectural metal systems and project coordination

Wall Panel Engineering & Specification

Five core engineering parameters for tailoring custom architectural wall cladding from design elevation to site installation.

Reference specifications for design planning. Final panel formats, finishes, and structural fixing methods are refined against approved shop drawings, sample sign-offs, and site conditions.

Typical applications

Interior feature walls, lobby backdrops, external cladding, column wraps, soffits and entrance portals.

The location determines the required backing, joint treatment, access strategy and environmental review.

Panel geometry

Flat panels, folded returns, cassettes, curved elements, perforated features or mixed solid and open profiles.

Geometry is coordinated with corners, openings, doors, services and adjacent materials.

Module planning

Panel widths, heights and joint positions are balanced against architectural grids, sheet yield, and site handling constraints.

Final divisions follow approved drawings, transport access and the intended visual alignment.

Architectural wall panels built around the elevation

Wall cladding is read as one continuous architectural surface, but it is delivered through many coordinated decisions. Xinmao develops the visible panels, concealed support, joints and finish direction as an integrated wall system.

Narrow Arch Edges or a Metal-Lined Opening

A slender stainless steel border can define an arch without covering the surrounding wall, while a deeper lining gives the recess its own metallic interior. Choose the intended face width and return depth together. The selected section, rather than the apparent gold tone alone, determines the component arrangement.

Water-Ripple Panels as a Separate Wall Direction

Silver water-ripple surfaces offer a broader feature treatment for lounge and stairwell walls. Their textured reflections differ from the smoother arch trims in the same family. Specify which wall areas receive ripple panels and which receive plain edging, rather than treating every reference as one combined standard finish.

Curved Returns Beside Stone or Plaster

Where the metal meets stone-look, tiled or plastered walls, the junction needs an agreed edge and installation order. A narrow trim and a deep arch lining may need different support and attachment details. Resolve those interfaces from the actual wall profile instead of concealing an unplanned joint with a wider cover.

Develop the Ripple Layout Around Openings

A door or service opening interrupts the reflective wall field, making its reveal and adjacent panel joints part of the design. Set out those divisions before fabrication and coordinate access requirements. Compare a sample junction under representative lighting, since a textured face does not establish how the backing or closure will be built.

Exterior References Need Their Own Project Review

The building-entrance views extend the design language beyond the interior, but they do not establish a weatherproof wall system. Confirm exposure, material selection, support, drainage and interfaces with the building envelope for any exterior use. The stainless steel trim remains separate from the complete wall's required performance evidence.

Can Ripple Texture Hide a Misaligned Wall?

No installation should rely on texture to compensate for an unverified substrate. Agree the backing plane, panel attachment and permitted joint variation before production. Ripple changes the visible reflection; it does not remove the need to coordinate alignment, openings and the junction between neighbouring panels.

What Should the Selected Trim Package Include?

Mark the chosen arches, recesses and wall fields on an elevation, with their lengths, curves, returns and finish references. Identify lights, doors, glazing and surrounding wall materials by others. This allows a focused decorative-metal quote rather than assuming every architectural element in the reference views is supplied.

Details that create a continuous surface

A successful cladding system seamlessly bridges visual design, precision fabrication, and site installation—preserving the true architectural intent.

Slim Metal Borders Around Arched Openings

Narrow gold-toned lines emphasise selected curves while allowing the adjacent plaster or stone-look wall to remain the dominant surface.

Lined Niches with a Deeper Metal Return

An arch-shaped recess can use a broader metal lining, making the depth and internal face visible parts of a compact display or wall feature.

Silver Ripple Fields Along Interior Routes

Textured silver panels introduce broken reflections beside seating and stair circulation, creating a different visual treatment from the smoother opening trims.

Different Scales Within One Metalwork Brief

Local edge pieces and wider wall surfaces can be scheduled together while retaining separate profiles, samples and backing requirements for each selected location.

Wall panel questions

Practical answers for architects, contractors and project teams reviewing a custom wall cladding package.

Custom architectural stainless steel screen detail
01Are the same panels suitable for interior walls and exterior facades?

Not by default. Exterior use requires a separate review of weather exposure, supporting frame, movement, drainage, corrosion compatibility and local building requirements. Interior decorative wall details should not be copied into a facade without that review.

02Which metal and finish should I choose for a high-traffic or humid area?

Selection depends on exposure, cleaning products, touch frequency, impact risk and the desired appearance. Stainless steel grade and finish should be agreed through the project specification and a sample. No finish is completely free from fingerprints, scratches or maintenance.

03Can Xinmao provide installation and compliance documentation?

The available package may include approved shop drawings, finish samples, panel references and material information, depending on the agreed scope. Ask for the exact document list at quotation stage. Project engineering approvals, tests and local compliance certificates must be identified separately where required.

04What drawings are needed to review a wall panel project?

Please share elevations, plans, key dimensions, corner details, openings, substrate information and finish references where available.

05How are material and thickness selected?

Selection depends on panel size, location, finish, fabrication method, support system and the approved project specification. Final values are confirmed during detailing.

06Can the panel sizes be customised?

Yes. Module sizes are developed around the elevation, visual grid, transport route, site access and handling requirements.

07Can the finish match nearby metalwork?

Finish references and physical samples can be reviewed with doors, ceilings, trims or other architectural metalwork before production.

08Can the panels be used outside?

Exterior use can be considered, but material, finish, drainage, joints, support and exposure conditions must be reviewed for the actual project location.

09Can selected panels be removable?

Removable panels can be developed where services or inspection require access, subject to the panel geometry and support system.

10Do you provide installation details?

Fixing concepts and coordinated interface drawings can be developed around the agreed scope and confirmed receiving conditions.

11What is needed for an initial quotation?

Provide dimensions, quantities, project location, application, preferred finish, available drawings and any programme requirements. Provisional information should be clearly marked.
