Sculpted Star Stainless Steel Ceiling Sample with Light Aperture

A sculpted stainless steel ceiling sample combines four folded points and a central light aperture for project-specific form and finish approval.
Product description

The images show a square sculpted stainless steel ceiling module sample with four folded points around a central light aperture. Gold-toned and neutral finish directions are illustrated; the sample is a design reference, not a complete installed ceiling or included lighting package. Xinmao Metal develops the folded stainless steel geometry and physical mock-up for approval of the finish, edge detail and fixing method.

Project FAQs

How does the sculpted module attach overhead?

The finished stainless steel module needs a designed back frame or carrier connected through hangers to the structural slab or steelwork. Confirm the back detail and unit weight before selecting hooks or other fasteners.

Is the central opening a light fitting?

The visible opening is a design aperture, not proof that a luminaire is included. The lighting designer must specify the fixture, independent support, wiring access and any heat or clearance requirements.

What affects module size?

Fold depth, edge return, stiffness, transport and the repeating joint pattern govern the feasible module. Approve one physical sample before fixing the final grid and ceiling elevations.

Ceiling system

Modular panel, linear, baffle, and custom feature ceiling systems tailored to your Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP), lighting cutouts, and MEP service requirements.

Information for review
  • Do not install the display sample overhead until the approved back frame or carrier, unit weight and structural fixing arrangement are established.
  • Handle the module through designated support points, protecting the inward-folded edges and visible corners from contact damage.
  • Coordinate the separate luminaire, independent support, wiring access and required clearances around the central aperture before closing the module.
  • Check the full-size mock-up and repeating joint detail before fixing grid dimensions or elevations; refer changes in fold depth or return geometry for fabrication review. Further guidance: Architectural metal systems and project coordination

System format

Panel, linear baffle, open-cell, perforated feature, or custom architectural ceiling modules.

Format selection is guided by aesthetic intent, acoustic requirements, MEP service integration, and access strategy.

Module direction

Linear runs, regular grids, radial layouts, curved zones, or mixed module arrangements.

Module orientation aligns seamlessly with spatial circulation, lighting layouts, and primary architectural axes.

Ceiling depth

Engineered to suit available plenum depth, primary suspension, MEP service zones, and access clearance.

Finished ceiling levels correspond to coordinated RCP drawings, structural slab heights, and site constraints.

Ceilings developed as part of the interior system

An architectural metal ceiling must seamlessly balance visual intent with MEP services, maintenance access, and structural suspension. Xinmao engineers visible modules and concealed supports directly around your Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP).

Sculpted Star Stainless Steel Ceiling Sample with Light Aperture

Four Folded Points Form A Sculptural Square Module

The sample draws four inward-folded points towards a central opening, giving the square face a pronounced dimensional form. It offers a starting point for a custom ceiling composition rather than proof of a finished installed system. Develop the intended repeat and overall ceiling layout after the physical form has been reviewed.

Gold-Tone And Neutral Surfaces Emphasise Different Facets

A warm metallic direction and a quieter neutral alternative give the same folded idea different visual weights. Light across the sloping faces makes the form more legible at an angle. Agree the actual stainless steel finish by sample without treating a colour or illuminated display as a confirmed coating specification.

The Central Aperture Is Not A Supplied Luminaire

The opening provides a design location to coordinate with a separately specified lighting arrangement. The illuminated sample presentation does not establish that a fixture, wiring or driver is included. Confirm the selected equipment, its independent support and any heat or clearance requirements with the lighting designer.

Reverse Geometry Helps Resolve The Supporting Detail

The folded back and perimeter returns need to be considered along with the visible sculpted face. Confirm unit weight, attachment points and the designed carrier or back frame before specifying overhead fasteners. No load capacity or installation suitability follows from a sample standing on a work surface.

Approve A Physical Module Before Fixing The Grid

Fold depth, edge returns, feasible panel size and transport requirements all influence how the sample becomes a ceiling module. Review these with the repeating joint pattern and ceiling elevation before production. The approved mock-up should establish what is supplied and how adjacent modules connect, not imply an already validated universal tile system.

A ceiling that works above and below the surface

Visible aesthetic design and concealed MEP coordination are engineered in unison.

Inward-Folded Points Give The Square A Dimensional Centre

Four sloping forms create a strong focal geometry around the small central aperture.

Warm And Neutral Finishes Offer Different Visual Directions

The sample can be reviewed for how its finish affects the reading of the folded surfaces.

A Central Opening Allows Separate Lighting Coordination

The aperture can be developed around a selected fixture, without assuming lighting is included in the decorative module.

A Physical Sample Supports Form And Edge Approval

The actual folds and returns let the project team review geometry before committing to the full ceiling grid.

What a coordinated metal ceiling solves

Project challenge

MEP cutouts interrupt ceiling pattern

Xinmao response

Factory-integrated cutouts ensure lighting, HVAC, and fire protection merge seamlessly into the module grid.

Project challenge

Maintenance access is unclear

Xinmao response

Demountable modules and concealed access hatches are mapped directly to underlying MEP service locations.

Metal ceiling questions

Practical answers for teams reviewing a custom architectural ceiling package.

Custom architectural stainless steel screen detail
01Who designs the suspension and fixings for a custom metal ceiling?

Responsibilities should be defined in the project scope. Xinmao can develop decorative panels and visible interfaces from approved information; the responsible engineer and ceiling system supplier must confirm loads, hangers, anchors, fire requirements and local approvals for the complete installation.

02What should a ceiling mock-up include?

A useful mock-up includes the actual finish, a typical joint, a curved or folded transition if used, a service opening, backing, support and one removal sequence. This allows the team to assess the pattern, flatness, light effect and access together.

03How are perforated panels cleaned and maintained?

Cleaning depends on the approved finish, perforation, backing and site environment. Agree a finish-specific care method and access route with the supplier and facilities team, and test the method on a sample before applying it to the installed ceiling.

04When would a honeycomb-core ceiling panel be considered instead of a solid metal panel?

It may be considered when a large, relatively flat panel and lower assembly weight are design priorities. Suitability depends on the complete face/core construction, edge closure, suspension, fire requirements and verified project data. Compare approved assemblies, not material labels alone.

05Can Xinmao supply honeycomb-core ceiling panels?

This requires product-level confirmation. Xinmao's public case material currently documents honeycomb panels for walls, columns, elevator areas and facades, while its ceiling collection shows stainless steel feature and perforated panels.

06Can a mashrabiya-inspired pattern be used on a metal ceiling?

A geometric openwork pattern may be adapted for a decorative ceiling if the panel, support, lighting, access and finish are developed for that overhead location. Describe it as mashrabiya-inspired metalwork rather than a traditional mashrabiya.

07What ceiling formats can be developed?

Projects may use panels, strips, baffles, open-cell layouts, perforated features or custom-formed elements, subject to the design and approved build-up.

08What information is needed for design review?

Please provide the reflected ceiling plan, levels, room dimensions, service layouts, access requirements, finish references and available substrate information.

09Can lighting and service openings be integrated?

Yes. Confirmed locations can be coordinated into modules, trims or removable areas before production.

10Can the ceiling be coordinated with an acoustic system?

The metal finish layer can be coordinated with a separately specified backing assembly. Required acoustic performance must be confirmed for the complete approved system.

11Can panels be removed for maintenance?

Removable modules or access panels can be developed where services require access, subject to the selected ceiling system.

12How is the ceiling finish approved?

Physical samples are reviewed for colour, texture, sheen and direction. A mock-up may be useful where lighting and reflection are critical.

13How is the suspension system selected?

The support concept follows the module, ceiling level, receiving structure, access and coordinated project requirements.

14What is required for an initial quotation?

Share the ceiling area, module concept, finish, project location, available drawings, quantities and programme information.
