Custom stainless steel screen

Bronze Geometric Cutout Stainless Steel & Aluminum Screen

Geometric cutout screens bring linear, angular and radial pattern options to restaurant thresholds, hotel corridors and interior feature partitions.
Product Features

Bronze geometric cutout metal screens offer radial fan and linear grid variations for restaurants, hotel corridors and feature partitions. Select the intended motif and open-area ratio, then coordinate the cut pattern with frame geometry. Shop drawings should define panel divisions, frame stiffness, fixing points, diagonal tolerances and the fabrication sequence for every selected infill type. Project teams can submit CAD drawings, dimensions and finish samples for technical review by Xinmao Metal.

The decorative metal panels and frames in these screen designs can be specified in stainless steel or aluminum. For a carved aluminum screen option, confirm the selected pattern, metal thickness, frame arrangement and finish in the project drawings. Glass, mesh or other infill remains a separate selection; choosing aluminum for the metalwork does not change the infill material.

Application Scenarios

Space Zoning & Partitioning :
Flexibly divide open-plan living rooms, studio apartments, or shared offices into distinct functional zones (e.g., separating a dining area from the lounge, or a workspace from the bedroom) without structural changes.

Privacy Creation :
Instantly create private nooks for changing areas, home offices, reading corners, or dressing rooms in residential or hospitality settings.

Decorative Focal Point & Backdrop :
Act as stylish art pieces, headboards behind beds, or aesthetic backdrops for video calls, photography, and live streaming.

Light & Flow Control :
Gently diffuse direct sunlight, block unwanted light, or redirect air currents to create a more comfortable micro-climate.

Concealment :
Elegantly hide clutter, storage units, utility areas, or architectural imperfections from view.

Installation Precautions
  • Mark the approved motif direction on each panel and check it against the corridor or entrance elevation before lifting.
  • Use the specified frame datums to set out diagonal and radial pattern ends; avoid hiding alignment errors by changing visible edge margins on site.
  • Carry and temporarily support the screen at the agreed frame positions, keeping straps and clamps away from the narrow cutout connections.
  • Check the available fixing substrate and connection access at door, wall and ceiling interfaces before final securing; retain the approved perimeter adjustment. Further guidance: Screen system fixing and installation guidance

Architectural screens designed around the space

A decorative screen is more than a pattern applied to metal. It has to manage sight lines, light, circulation and scale while fitting the surrounding architecture. Xinmao develops every stainless steel screen as an integral component of the architectural intent—seamlessly balancing visual design with fabrication and site installation requirements.

Bronze Geometric Cutout Stainless Steel & Aluminum Screen

Directional Geometry Gives A Corridor Visual Movement

Repeated angular paths create a strong direction across the screen surface. In a hotel corridor or restaurant approach, that direction can relate to the route through the room. Establish which way the motif runs before assigning panel orientation and its relationship to nearby doors or wall lines.

Fine Grids Offer A Quieter Design Alternative

A tighter rectilinear grid provides another option when the opening needs a more even visual texture. Its small intervals read differently from the larger angular repeat. Assess the chosen panel against the scale of neighbouring finishes so the screen does not unintentionally compete with patterned stone or joinery.

Radial Motifs Change The Emphasis Of The Opening

A radial variation introduces curved lines that gather around repeated centres, creating a more decorative field. It can give a feature partition a different identity from the linear corridor screens. Treat it as a separately selected pattern with its own edge termination, not as a cropped version of the angular design.

Cutout And Frame Geometry Need One Layout

The pattern should reach the perimeter in a controlled way, particularly where diagonal or curved lines meet a rectangular border. Develop the edge margins and any module breaks with the cutout drawing. The border then becomes part of the composition rather than a cover for unresolved pattern ends.

Material Approval Completes The Selected Pattern Specification

The metalwork is available in stainless steel or carved aluminum, with the fabrication route confirmed for the chosen design. Resolve the selected metal and visible edge treatment alongside the finish sample. Any additional infill and its support are separate decisions, not implied by the openwork pattern.

Details that hold the screen together

A screen is most convincing when pattern, panel construction, finish and interfaces are resolved as one composition.

Angular Paths Give The Surface A Direction

The interlocking lines create a recognisable visual movement that can be aligned with an entrance or circulation route.

A Fine Grid Reduces The Visual Scale

Closely repeated linear intervals offer a more restrained counterpart to the larger geometric compositions.

Radial Options Introduce A Different Focal Rhythm

Curved lines around repeated centres provide a decorative alternative where a purely linear design would feel too severe.

Deliberate Pattern Ends Improve The Perimeter Composition

Resolving the motif at the frame helps partial shapes and edge margins look intentional from the principal approach.

Architectural Challenges & Solutions

Challenge

Privacy is needed, but the room must remain open

Xinmao response

Pattern density is calibrated to balance line-of-sight privacy with ambient light and spatial flow.

Challenge

The selected motif does not fit the final elevation

Xinmao response

Motifs are scaled and proportioned across the full elevation, ensuring seamless pattern continuation without awkward crops.

Challenge

Large panels are difficult to transport and install

Xinmao response

Elevations are modularized into manageable sections, aligning panel joints seamlessly with the architectural grid.

Challenge

Metal finishes look inconsistent across the interior

Xinmao response

Finish tones and grain directions are cross-matched with adjacent metalwork, timber, or stone before production.

Challenge

Installation details are left unresolved until site work begins

Xinmao response

Fixing methods and structural integration are fully resolved during detailing, providing contractors with clear shop drawings before fabrication.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for architects, contractors and project teams reviewing a custom screen package.

Custom architectural stainless steel screen detail
01Is your metal screen a traditional mashrabiya?

Our products are custom metal screens that can use mashrabiya-inspired geometric patterns. Traditional mashrabiya is a specific architectural element with cultural and environmental functions. We describe modern metal interpretations by their material, pattern and project use rather than treating them as identical to historic woodwork.

02Can a mashrabiya-inspired screen improve shade and privacy?

It can provide visual screening and reduce direct sun in the right arrangement. The effect depends on orientation, pattern depth, open area, viewing angles and the building behind it. Any required daylight, solar or privacy performance should be tested or calculated for the project before it is specified.

03Can the pattern look different by day and at night?

Yes. Sun direction and interior or exterior lighting change the visible pattern, shadows and sightlines. If night-time privacy matters, review the screen with the intended lighting on both sides; daytime appearance alone is not enough to approve it.

04Can a perforated decorative screen act as a waterproof facade?

No. An open metal screen is a decorative or shading layer; the wall or facade behind it must provide the required weather protection. The project team should coordinate drainage, exposed materials, brackets and maintenance access with the building envelope design.

05What changes when a screen is used outdoors?

Outdoor use requires a separate review of exposure, material and finish selection, support, fixings, drainage, cleaning access and any project-specific wind or structural requirements. A pattern approved for an interior partition should not automatically be reused outside.

06Can a screen be supplied in one large piece?

Panel size is set by the design, sheet availability, fabrication method, stiffness, finish, packaging, shipping and site access. For larger elevations, coordinated modules often give a more practical installation route while preserving the pattern across joints.

07Can you provide drawings and samples before production?

Xinmao's published process includes project drawings, finish review and samples or mock-ups. Agree the required drawing set, sample size, approval sequence and installation interfaces in the project scope before fabrication begins.

08Where are architectural metal screens commonly used?

Typical uses include lobby features, partitions, privacy screens, restaurant and retail zoning, lift surrounds and decorative enclosures. The final screen design should respond to the circulation, sight lines and maintenance access of the space.

09Can the pattern be customised for a specific project?

Yes. A client motif, geometric reference or privacy requirement can be used as the starting point. Pattern scale and open area are then reviewed against panel size, borders, viewing distance and fabrication constraints.

10What information do you need for an initial quotation?

Please provide overall dimensions, quantity, project location, intended application, preferred finish, pattern reference and any available drawings. Provisional information should be marked so it can be reviewed separately.

11How is the material selected for a screen project?

Material selection depends on the project specification, location, required appearance, panel format and fabrication method. Xinmao primarily develops stainless steel screen packages, while final material and thickness follow approved project requirements.

12Can the screen finish match other metalwork in the project?

Finish references, approved samples and adjacent metalwork can be reviewed together. Where appearance is critical, colour, texture and grain direction should be confirmed with physical samples before production.

13Can the screen be used for both interior and exterior applications?

Both applications can be considered, but they should not use the same specification by default. Material, finish, backing structure, drainage, fixings and local exposure conditions must be reviewed for the actual project location.

14What installation information can be provided?

The installation approach depends on the project scope and surrounding construction. Wall, floor and ceiling conditions should be shared so frames, brackets, access and fixing interfaces can be discussed during detailing.

15What maintenance is normally required?

Maintenance depends on the selected material, finish, location and level of contact. Accessible joints and suitable panel divisions make cleaning easier. Final cleaning products and methods should follow the approved finish sample and project guidance.
