Mixed-Infill Stainless Steel & Aluminum Screens for Fit-Out Projects

A mixed-infill screen range brings decorative cutouts, textured glazing, art panels and clear rod features into coordinated commercial interiors.
Product Features

This mixed-infill stainless steel screen system combines glass, crystal-like infill, cutout panels and open metal frames for coordinated commercial fit-out packages. Use it in large fit-out packages with varied room-divider requirements to define zones without making the surrounding interior feel enclosed. Shop drawings should define panel divisions, frame stiffness, fixing points, diagonal tolerances and the fabrication sequence for every selected infill type. Xinmao Metal supports fabrication from coordinated drawings, finish references and approved mock-ups.

The decorative metal panels and frames in these screen designs can be specified in stainless steel or aluminum. For a carved aluminum screen option, confirm the selected pattern, metal thickness, frame arrangement and finish in the project drawings. Glass, mesh or other infill remains a separate selection; choosing aluminum for the metalwork does not change the infill material.

Installation Precautions
  • Identify the selected botanical, glazed, art-panel, rod or circular-feature configuration for each opening before checking delivered modules.
  • Use configuration-specific handling and retention details: glass edges, decorative rods and patterned webs need different protection and support.
  • Confirm access for glazing retainers, art-panel attachments and individual rod replacement before adjacent finishes are completed.
  • Check the approved metal and non-metal material selections separately, then verify frame alignment and interface clearances as a coordinated fit-out package. Further guidance: Screen system fixing and installation guidance

Architectural screens designed around the space

A decorative screen is more than a pattern applied to metal. It has to manage sight lines, light, circulation and scale while fitting the surrounding architecture. Xinmao develops every stainless steel screen as an integral component of the architectural intent—seamlessly balancing visual design with fabrication and site installation requirements.

Different Feature Types Can Share An Interior Language

This range combines several ways of defining space, from patterned metal to textured glazing and open frames. Select each screen for its role in the room, then coordinate the frame proportions and finish palette. A consistent interior does not require every opening to repeat the same infill.

Botanical Cutouts Create A More Detailed Focal Surface

A dense botanical cutout option places branching, leaf-like forms within a rectangular surround. It brings a decorative focus to a reception or feature opening. Develop the small connections and edge margins with the chosen panel material rather than treating the motif as artwork independent of its supporting frame.

Textured Glazing Introduces A Continuous Light-Sharing Surface

Glazed options pair a textured appearance with linear framing, including a configuration with rounded upper corners. The infill changes how the background is seen while the metal defines the outline. Confirm pane type, appearance and edge support for the selected configuration before approving the surrounding frame.

Art Panels Add A Different Kind Of Emphasis

An art-panel option combines a broad decorative surface with an open linear section. It can provide a recognisable focal area while retaining some visual connection through the screen. Agree the artwork, its substrate and its attachment separately from the specification for the metal members.

Clear Rod Elements Give Another Layer Of Detail

Rows of clear decorative rods introduce a different texture from either glazing or cutout metal. Their individual retention, handling and replacement need to follow an approved component sample. Select the actual rod material explicitly; the clear, crystal-like appearance does not by itself identify its composition.

Circular Framing Can Organise A Textured Field

A circular feature within a rectangular frame offers another way to divide and organise the infill. Its position can relate to an entrance view or a nearby interior focal point. Review the circular junctions and the surrounding textured field together instead of choosing the ring as an isolated decorative addition.

Material Options Apply To The Agreed Metal Elements

Stainless steel or aluminum can be specified for the selected metalwork, with carved aluminum considered for the agreed patterned design. Glazing, artwork and clear rods remain separate selections. Confirm how the chosen metal affects the frame junctions and supports without assuming that it changes the non-metal components.

Representative Junctions Resolve The Combination Before Production

For a coordinated fit-out, samples should show the important combinations: frame to glazing, cutout edge, art-panel attachment or rod retention. Approving these junctions helps connect design choices with fabrication and installation. Develop them for the selected configurations rather than using one generic detail for the entire range.

Details that hold the screen together

A screen is most convincing when pattern, panel construction, finish and interfaces are resolved as one composition.

Distinct Features Allow Different Degrees Of Emphasis

Cutouts, textured glazing and art panels offer alternatives for focal and quieter locations within the same interior.

Rounded And Circular Geometry Soften The Frame Language

Curved corners and a circular feature provide options beyond a purely rectangular grille composition.

Clear Rods Introduce An Individual-Element Texture

The rod option creates a layered decorative effect that differs from a continuous pane or a cutout sheet.

Coordinated Junctions Connect The Different Design Choices

Reviewing representative frame-to-infill details supports a related appearance while respecting each configuration's construction needs.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for architects, contractors and project teams reviewing a custom screen package.

Custom architectural stainless steel screen detail
01Is your metal screen a traditional mashrabiya?

Our products are custom metal screens that can use mashrabiya-inspired geometric patterns. Traditional mashrabiya is a specific architectural element with cultural and environmental functions. We describe modern metal interpretations by their material, pattern and project use rather than treating them as identical to historic woodwork.

02Can a mashrabiya-inspired screen improve shade and privacy?

It can provide visual screening and reduce direct sun in the right arrangement. The effect depends on orientation, pattern depth, open area, viewing angles and the building behind it. Any required daylight, solar or privacy performance should be tested or calculated for the project before it is specified.

03Can the pattern look different by day and at night?

Yes. Sun direction and interior or exterior lighting change the visible pattern, shadows and sightlines. If night-time privacy matters, review the screen with the intended lighting on both sides; daytime appearance alone is not enough to approve it.

04Can a perforated decorative screen act as a waterproof facade?

No. An open metal screen is a decorative or shading layer; the wall or facade behind it must provide the required weather protection. The project team should coordinate drainage, exposed materials, brackets and maintenance access with the building envelope design.

05What changes when a screen is used outdoors?

Outdoor use requires a separate review of exposure, material and finish selection, support, fixings, drainage, cleaning access and any project-specific wind or structural requirements. A pattern approved for an interior partition should not automatically be reused outside.

06Can a screen be supplied in one large piece?

Panel size is set by the design, sheet availability, fabrication method, stiffness, finish, packaging, shipping and site access. For larger elevations, coordinated modules often give a more practical installation route while preserving the pattern across joints.

07Can you provide drawings and samples before production?

Xinmao's published process includes project drawings, finish review and samples or mock-ups. Agree the required drawing set, sample size, approval sequence and installation interfaces in the project scope before fabrication begins.

08Where are architectural metal screens commonly used?

Typical uses include lobby features, partitions, privacy screens, restaurant and retail zoning, lift surrounds and decorative enclosures. The final screen design should respond to the circulation, sight lines and maintenance access of the space.

09Can the pattern be customised for a specific project?

Yes. A client motif, geometric reference or privacy requirement can be used as the starting point. Pattern scale and open area are then reviewed against panel size, borders, viewing distance and fabrication constraints.

10What information do you need for an initial quotation?

Please provide overall dimensions, quantity, project location, intended application, preferred finish, pattern reference and any available drawings. Provisional information should be marked so it can be reviewed separately.

11How is the material selected for a screen project?

Material selection depends on the project specification, location, required appearance, panel format and fabrication method. Xinmao primarily develops stainless steel screen packages, while final material and thickness follow approved project requirements.

12Can the screen finish match other metalwork in the project?

Finish references, approved samples and adjacent metalwork can be reviewed together. Where appearance is critical, colour, texture and grain direction should be confirmed with physical samples before production.

13Can the screen be used for both interior and exterior applications?

Both applications can be considered, but they should not use the same specification by default. Material, finish, backing structure, drainage, fixings and local exposure conditions must be reviewed for the actual project location.

14What installation information can be provided?

The installation approach depends on the project scope and surrounding construction. Wall, floor and ceiling conditions should be shared so frames, brackets, access and fixing interfaces can be discussed during detailing.

15What maintenance is normally required?

Maintenance depends on the selected material, finish, location and level of contact. Accessible joints and suitable panel divisions make cleaning easier. Final cleaning products and methods should follow the approved finish sample and project guidance.
