Custom stainless steel screen

Textured Glass and Mesh Infill Stainless Steel Screens

Stainless steel screens pair fine frames with clear, textured or mesh-like infill for layered living areas, reception spaces and interior transitions.
Product Features

Custom stainless steel screen partitions with textured infill use framed panels, curved corners and fine mesh-like surfaces to divide interior spaces. The set includes warm bronze-toned frames, translucent patterned panels and a tall silver-toned grid screen for living rooms, lobbies, reception areas and interior feature zones. Panel geometry keeps the boundary clear while allowing light or visual connection through the screen. Xinmao Metal can adapt frame layout, panel proportions, infill texture and visible finish for an interior project.

Application Scenarios

Space Zoning & Partitioning :
Flexibly divide open-plan living rooms, studio apartments, or shared offices into distinct functional zones (e.g., separating a dining area from the lounge, or a workspace from the bedroom) without structural changes.

Privacy Creation :
Instantly create private nooks for changing areas, home offices, reading corners, or dressing rooms in residential or hospitality settings.

Decorative Focal Point & Backdrop :
Act as stylish art pieces, headboards behind beds, or aesthetic backdrops for video calls, photography, and live streaming.

Light & Flow Control :
Gently diffuse direct sunlight, block unwanted light, or redirect air currents to create a more comfortable micro-climate.

Concealment :
Elegantly hide clutter, storage units, utility areas, or architectural imperfections from view.

Installation Precautions
  • Approve the actual infill for each panel: clear glass, textured glass, mesh or another confirmed construction. Agree safety requirements and edge details separately; mesh-like texture is not proof of embedded wire or a particular glass build-up.
  • Survey the opening and check frame divisions against consoles, floor levels and ceiling interfaces. For curved returns, confirm radius, junctions and support locations on the coordinated drawing.
  • Use the selected retention and edge-isolation detail for glass, or the specified restraint for open mesh. Handle the unit by approved frame positions rather than lifting through decorative infill.
  • Keep furniture support and screen fixing separate unless expressly designed as one assembly. Protect metal and infill during adjacent works, and retain the agreed cleaning and replacement access. Further guidance: Screen system fixing and installation guidance

Architectural screens designed around the space

A decorative screen is more than a pattern applied to metal. It has to manage sight lines, light, circulation and scale while fitting the surrounding architecture. Xinmao develops every stainless steel screen as an integral component of the architectural intent—seamlessly balancing visual design with fabrication and site installation requirements.

Textured Glass and Mesh Infill Stainless Steel Screens

Clear Fields Within A Slender Bronze Frame

Slim bronze-toned divisions outline the more transparent screen between living and dining areas. The furniture beyond remains visible, making the frame itself the main architectural line of this interior room divider.

Crackle Like Texture Behind A Console

A crackle-like translucent surface introduces a stronger decorative layer behind a console or entrance display. The irregular visual texture contrasts with the straight frame lines. Its appearance should be selected from the actual infill sample; the pattern alone does not identify the glass treatment or safety construction.

Fine Gridded Infill For Taller Interior Features

The silver-toned grid direction reads differently from the clearer bronze-framed option. Its denser field can create a textured backdrop at a lobby boundary while the narrow surrounding divisions keep the composition ordered. Infill openness and the selected construction are agreed for the individual panel.

Curved Returns Around An Entrance Setting

A curved framed section can carry the textured surface around a reception or entrance feature. The radius and meeting edges become part of the visible design, especially beside a console. Curved frame geometry and infill construction need their own detail rather than simply continuing a flat panel around the corner.

Layered Screens Beside Furniture And Joinery

Placed behind a console, lounge chair or display surface, the screen works as a second visual layer. Its frame lines can relate to the furniture without making the two components one assembly. Furniture support, access and the extent of supplied metalwork remain separately agreed.

Finish And Infill Selected As A Pair

Warm bronze framing and cooler silver-toned examples offer different interior palettes. Review the metal finish and selected translucent or mesh-like infill together under the room's lighting. Xinmao Metal can adapt panel proportions, frame layout and visible texture to the project without prescribing an unconfirmed universal glass or mesh specification.

Details that hold the screen together

A screen is most convincing when pattern, panel construction, finish and interfaces are resolved as one composition.

Light Framing Around More Transparent Fields

The clearer option gives the room boundary a defined outline without making its centre visually heavy. Slim metal divisions allow furniture, light and the adjacent space to remain part of the view.

Crackle Like Texture As A Focal Backdrop

An irregular textured field adds close detail behind a console or reception feature. Its contrast with the orderly frame provides a different decorative direction from the fine grid and clearer infill options.

Curved Frame Lines At Interior Transitions

Rounded or curved framing can soften a change of direction around an entrance setting. Coordinating the curve with the console and surrounding walls helps the screen feel integrated with the room.

Bronze And Silver With Distinct Interior Characters

Warm and cooler metal directions can be paired with different infill textures. Selecting them together lets designers relate the room divider to nearby stone, timber and other architectural metalwork without treating all reference panels as identical.

Architectural Challenges & Solutions

Challenge

Privacy is needed, but the room must remain open

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for architects, contractors and project teams reviewing a custom screen package.

Custom architectural stainless steel screen detail
01Is your metal screen a traditional mashrabiya?

Our products are custom metal screens that can use mashrabiya-inspired geometric patterns. Traditional mashrabiya is a specific architectural element with cultural and environmental functions. We describe modern metal interpretations by their material, pattern and project use rather than treating them as identical to historic woodwork.

02Can a mashrabiya-inspired screen improve shade and privacy?

It can provide visual screening and reduce direct sun in the right arrangement. The effect depends on orientation, pattern depth, open area, viewing angles and the building behind it. Any required daylight, solar or privacy performance should be tested or calculated for the project before it is specified.

03Can the pattern look different by day and at night?

Yes. Sun direction and interior or exterior lighting change the visible pattern, shadows and sightlines. If night-time privacy matters, review the screen with the intended lighting on both sides; daytime appearance alone is not enough to approve it.

04Can a perforated decorative screen act as a waterproof facade?

No. An open metal screen is a decorative or shading layer; the wall or facade behind it must provide the required weather protection. The project team should coordinate drainage, exposed materials, brackets and maintenance access with the building envelope design.

05What changes when a screen is used outdoors?

Outdoor use requires a separate review of exposure, material and finish selection, support, fixings, drainage, cleaning access and any project-specific wind or structural requirements. A pattern approved for an interior partition should not automatically be reused outside.

06Can a screen be supplied in one large piece?

Panel size is set by the design, sheet availability, fabrication method, stiffness, finish, packaging, shipping and site access. For larger elevations, coordinated modules often give a more practical installation route while preserving the pattern across joints.

07Can you provide drawings and samples before production?

Xinmao's published process includes project drawings, finish review and samples or mock-ups. Agree the required drawing set, sample size, approval sequence and installation interfaces in the project scope before fabrication begins.

08Where are architectural metal screens commonly used?

Typical uses include lobby features, partitions, privacy screens, restaurant and retail zoning, lift surrounds and decorative enclosures. The final screen design should respond to the circulation, sight lines and maintenance access of the space.

09Can the pattern be customised for a specific project?

Yes. A client motif, geometric reference or privacy requirement can be used as the starting point. Pattern scale and open area are then reviewed against panel size, borders, viewing distance and fabrication constraints.

10What information do you need for an initial quotation?

Please provide overall dimensions, quantity, project location, intended application, preferred finish, pattern reference and any available drawings. Provisional information should be marked so it can be reviewed separately.

11How is the material selected for a screen project?

Material selection depends on the project specification, location, required appearance, panel format and fabrication method. Xinmao primarily develops stainless steel screen packages, while final material and thickness follow approved project requirements.

12Can the screen finish match other metalwork in the project?

Finish references, approved samples and adjacent metalwork can be reviewed together. Where appearance is critical, colour, texture and grain direction should be confirmed with physical samples before production.

13Can the screen be used for both interior and exterior applications?

Both applications can be considered, but they should not use the same specification by default. Material, finish, backing structure, drainage, fixings and local exposure conditions must be reviewed for the actual project location.

14What installation information can be provided?

The installation approach depends on the project scope and surrounding construction. Wall, floor and ceiling conditions should be shared so frames, brackets, access and fixing interfaces can be discussed during detailing.

15What maintenance is normally required?

Maintenance depends on the selected material, finish, location and level of contact. Accessible joints and suitable panel divisions make cleaning easier. Final cleaning products and methods should follow the approved finish sample and project guidance.
